Sharing a door code with your guest

Per-stay access codes in the guest app — works with any smart lock or keypad.

Every booking can have a per-stay door access code that the guest sees in their stay app. Works with any smart lock or keypad — NUKI, Salto, August, igloohome, or just the code-pad next to your door.

Setting the code

  1. Open the booking
  2. Scroll to Door access code
  3. Enter the code (3 to 32 characters — usually 4 to 6 digits) and an optional note (e.g. "Use the side door — keypad to the right of the gate")
  4. Click Save code

What the guest sees

Two days before check-in, the code appears in their stay app alongside the address, wifi, and check-in instructions. The code also shows in the check-in confirmation email when relevant.

Before that 48-hour window, the code is hidden from the guest — even if they have the magic link, the field is empty until check- in is close. Reduces the risk of leaked codes for stays still weeks away.

Validity window

By default the code is valid from check-in to check-out (your property's default times). You can override the window per booking — e.g. early check-in 11am, late check-out 2pm.

Updating or clearing

Hit Update on the same card to change the code mid-stay, or Clear to wipe it. The guest's app updates within seconds.

Coming soon: full smart-lock integration

We're shipping a NUKI integration that auto-generates the code when the booking is confirmed and auto-revokes it on check-out. Salto and igloohome follow. Until then, set the code manually after generating it in your lock's own admin.
